Residential Facility Renovation
Project summary
Hope House is a 32,000 square foot complex consisting of 50 housing units, administrative offices, Family Learning Center, a small health clinic and a Child Development Center. The Residential Facility underwent a renovation in 1997. As approximately 100 adults and 260 children are housed during any given year, the building is once again showing the wear and tear. Of particular concern are the subfloors on the second and third floors of the building. The floor fill installation under the tile is old and crumbling, causing the floor tiles to crack as well. The initial floor fill installation may have been done by the predessor company of Elastizell of St. Louis, Inc. This problem extends out into the stairwells on both ends of the building, where the stair treads are also worn out and must be replaced.
