Description:

Our church is looking to remodel a two flat building into a Fine Arts Center with multipurpose uses. We have owned the building for approximately 45years. It was perviously used as our church's sanctuary until 1996 when we moved to a new facility a block away. We have rented the space in the past, but now it is not being used. We have discussed many uses for the building, and decided on a Fine Arts Center because there appears to be a need for the Arts in inner city Chicago. Chicago Public Schools offer limited Fine Arts courses in their schools which leaves children without an appreciation or knowledge of Fine Arts. We hope to bridge that gap in the North Lawndale community by providing a place for community residents and the Chicagoland area to come and participate in Arts Education and Appreciation. Also, we are currently trying to develop a partnership with Columbia College to help us in our efforts.
