Description:

Heartland Habitat almost exclusively builds on in-fill lots where an existing structure once was, but has since been demolished. The challenge is finding a design and construction techniques that do not require extensive excavtion to hit "good" soil. Currently, we must dig down so far to hit "good" soil that we go ahead and put in a basement. Having a design that does not require a basement would allow us to build a less expensive house and thus serve more families.
